Minimum Requirements Qualifications And Skills
• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate, Related Tertiary qualification (mechanic trade tested)
• Industry: Heavy Transport / Commercial Vehicle Maintenance
• Location: Zambia
• Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a commercial vehicle workshop, preferably with heavy trucks and trailers. Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance, diagnostics, workshop planning, fleet management, spare parts inventory and leading a team of mechanics.
• Experience with Scania, Sinotruk, Shacman, FAW, or similar heavy-duty trucks will be an advantage.

Minimum Requirements
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a manufacturing, production, engineering, or workshop environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience.
• Sound knowledge of production planning, quality control and inventory management.
• Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and practices.
• Excellent planning, organisational, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Duties:
• Managing and supervising manufacturing, assembly, fitment, servicing and load-testing operations.
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring production schedules and workflow.
• Ensuring product quality standards are maintained and approving final quality inspections.
• Leading, coaching, mentoring and developing production personnel.
• Managing departmental performance, productivity and resource utilisation.
• Monitoring inventory control systems and production processes.
• Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements and Company policies.
• Managing timesheets, overtime and performance-related matters.
• Investigating and resolving operational challenges and workplace conflicts.
• Reporting on production progress, risks, delays, budgets and operational requirements.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and departmental growth.
• Managing and delivering ad hoc projects and strategic operational objectives.
• Supporting succession planning, trainee development and skills transfer initiatives.
